This page is to show the progress of my SuperMoto/Road Racer Project.

I am starting off with a 2004 Honda CRF450R Motocross bike that I bought from a good friend.

He raced and practiced on it, but he kept it up and has lots of extras for it. I will be posting up pics of my project as it develops. Hopefully we will have a race bike ready soon.

Stage 1 : The bike is pretty much all in pieces. First is cleaning up the aluminum frame and sub-frame. Pretty much just scotch-brite and aluminium polish. It's not going to be a show bike, but I wanted it to look professional.

Got a nice little part for the project, it will keep the expensive VP Ultimate 4 off the racetrack surface. eBay is far worse than heroin.

Today I will be finishing the frame, and going thru all the parts, already found the Ti headpipe needs to be welded, it has a small crack by the mounting boss. No big deal. :)

I think, I may bail out on this project. I have been realizing that I may need to replace almost 80% of the parts and hardware.

I forgot how hard my buddy was on bikes. Stay tuned.

The basket case CRF went back to my buddy last week, at least he gets a cleaned up frame in the deal.

I got approved for financing on a KTM 560SMR. I am going to think about it some, then make a decision. Here are some pics meanwhile.

Update 05/15/2006

Well It finally showed up today, I got my KTM560SMR after much suffering. I will be prepping it tomorrow. I have to finish assembling it and install the JD jet kit and catch cans.

I am dieing to get back onto the track, I need to find a place to break this thing in.

5/17/2006 - New pics of the 560 built. Just waiting to be ridden

55/24/2006 - New pics - Installed the Titanium Ackrapovic headpipe, mid and silencer. This pipe was available only to the KTM factory team, I acquired it at the races for a very small price :)  I think I saved something like 7-8 pounds with this and uncorked the motor big time !! It is a bit louder, but it sounds mean now instead of suffocated.
